Fine jewelry is not only a valuable possession, but it also holds sentimental value for many individuals. However, with the ever-changing market and potential risks such as theft or damage, it is crucial to have an accurate appraisal of your jewelry for insurance purposes. An insurance appraisal provides a detailed description and evaluation of your jewelry's worth, taking into account factors such as the quality of materials, craftsmanship, and current market value. This appraisal serves as proof of ownership and ensures that you are adequately covered in case of any unfortunate events. Without an insurance appraisal, you may risk being underinsured and not receiving the full value of your jewelry in the event of a loss. Therefore, it is essential to have an updated and accurate insurance appraisal to protect your investment and provide peace of mind.
That being said- we have two options for you and both vary based on your needs.
1. a formal appriasal for insurance- this is a legal and typewritten document. We at Saxon's have a professional appraiser who comes approximately every 6 weeks to do these for our clients. The cost as of this post is $185 per item.
2. An evaluation- is an informal converstation with our owner Bruce. He will sit with clients and discuss what they have, what the potential value could be and if an appraisal is the right route for your needs. These appointments are on Wednesdays by appointment and the cost is $50. We do waive this fee if you do find that an appraisal is what you actually need.
Be sure to send us an inquiry if you have any further questions.
