
A little lesser known but equally as intriguing diamond with a dark past is The Black Orlov. Originally in a statue is the 19th centruy Hindu state of Brahma- it was stolen by monk who was later murdered. Which was not a great begining to his history.
It wasn't see in recorded history again until J.W. Paris purchased the diamond, his business swiftly failed, and he jumped to his death from his New York City high rise. After that it fell into the hands of two Russian royals who both, separately jumped to their doom.
The next brave soul to take on the curse was Charlie F. Winson in 1950, he had the stone recut to 67.50 from it's original 195 Carats. The last time the stone was seen publically was at auction in 2004. The current owner has stated he beleives the curse is broken- tbd?
