Amethyst is the birthstone of February- it is also called the gem of stability- it is a natural tranquilizer , dispells rage, it is also known for helping to aid digestion, improving skin and reducing headaches. It is also beloved by royalty like this beautiful choker created for The Dutchess of Windsor Wallis Simpson
It is a geode in the quartz family, with a distinct purple color. Ancient Greek people believed that the stone would protect the wearer from drunkeness and rid the body of toxins. It was highly prized for centuries One noteable ancient amethyst was the Delhi Purple Sapphire (Which was actually an amethyst) It was also called the gem of sorrow- stay tuned for a full post on that haunted gemstone and it's dark story.

No matter the ocassion this deep purple soulful stone is a winner. We would love to show you what we have, or even make a custom peice from our collection of loose stones for you!
